The church of the Madonna of the Piety, known as Church of the Hospital, was situated next to Saint Mary’s Church. Today, it is a bakery. It used to be the church of the ancient hospital of Valentano and it was divided into two great rooms: one with the altar where the Mass was celebrated and the other one with a painting of the Madonna of the Piety, still visible. During the last world war, this church was the object of a controversy between the Diocese of Montefiascone and the Prefecture of Viterbo, which wanted the place for profane uses. The controversy ended with the suppression of the ancient Church and with the profane use of it.

A special thank to Mr Giovanni Saraconi owner of the bakery.
